How the Cloud has eDiscovery Covered
http://ow.ly/5Tebt
An article by Craig Ball, Esq., well known computer forensics and eDiscovery expert, and Special Master. Article appears on law.com Legal Technology News.
Craig Ball's article discusses how eDiscovery is easier, cheaper and more efficient when the data resides in the Cloud, and the results are of a higher quality. A discussion of different Cloud models: SaaS; Paas; and IaaS. In addition, the article touches on "distributed computing". To learn more about these terms, read the article from the link above.
In addition, the article points out that ESI will be much easier to collect when it is stored in the Cloud, and there will be little need to keep the same ESI in many locations, as pointers to the same data can be utilized when it exists in the Cloud.
As the author points out, it isn't a mater of whether eDiscovery will be primarily Cloud based, but a matter of when.
