http://ow.ly/5Zbo3

An article on law.com, on the Corporate Counsel page, written by eDiscovery journalist Evan Koblentz.

This article discusses some recent Gartner reports that analyze various software technologies, including programs that are used within the legal profession for redactions, forensics and eDiscovery.

The article provides quotes from analysts French Caldwell, Jay Heiser, anr Rob McMillan and provides some useful insight into current trends, and discusses some projections for the next 2 years.

A very important quote from Jay Heiser is included in the article, "Vendors in this space should explore ways to redact metadata fields. As more e-discovery orders are extended to production in native formats, the need to remove some metadata fields for cause is growing. Within the public sector and its e-government programs, policymakers need to strike a balance between improving access and service via the internet, while protecting their constituents' (personal information)".
