Bring Your Own Device Policy a Hit with Firms

This article was posted by the editors of Enterprise Innovation, and posted on their  website.

The article discusses a trend involving corporate I.T. departments encouraging the use by employees of their own computers and mobile devices.  Corporations are paying part (or all) of the costs for employees to use their own devices, and I.T. departments are managing the corporate data from a controlled center, which they then share with employees whom are working remotely.  This trend has apparently led to increased morale among workers, and increased productivity.

From an eDiscovery perspective, it seems like it could lead to some challenges, especially if employees are using many various mobile devices, and alternative carriers, when transmitting corporate data.  Perhaps there are some rules the corporations that are using this type of "bring your own" policy are enforcing that aren't addressed in this article, with regard to the use of smartphones.
