Electronically Stored Social Information (ESSI) and eDiscovery

This article discusses the growth of social media networks and provides information regarding the importance of electronically stored information that exists on social media sites.

This article provides some interesting statistics that appeared in another article that is referenced by the author, and a link is provided to the other article entitled "Social Media by the Numbers".

Of particular note, among the statistics provided, included are the following:
  • 7,432,307 job changes have been tracked by LinkedIn since 2009 (Source: LinkedIn)
  • 40% of social media users access social media content from their mobile phones (Source: Nielsen)
  • $1.23 billion will be spent by US advertisers on mobile advertising this year, up from $743 million in 2010
There are many other interesting statistics provided as well. 

The article states that Mr. Skamser will be provided further information regarding research he is conducting into means of collecting ESI from social media networks, and he will review tools that are used to assist with such effort.s

  1. Whoa, that's crazy to think that mobile advertising has almost doubled in just 5 years... no wonder they keeping making cellphones bigger and bigger!
