Man faces up to seven years in prison for threatening Google exec on Twitter

An article by Dean Wilson on the Inquirer website.

This article discusses a case where an individual sent 21,000 bizarre and threatening tweets to a Google VP of local maps and location services in California.

The messages were sent over a period from November of 2010 to August of 2011.  Some of the messages included specific threats such as the following:

"YOUR SCARED OF THE F****** LAW. IM SURE YOU THINK IM SERIOUS AND I'LL F****** SHOOT YOU.";

"IM INTERESTED IN F****** SHOOTING YOU."; and

"I THINK IT WOULD BE VERY F****** RESONABLE TO F****** KILL ONE OF YOU."

As the article states, "The accused faces two charges, one of sending threatening messages through interstate communication, and the other of sending harassing messages. He could get up to five years in prison for the first offense and up to two years for the second."

The man apparently did not miss a day in sending tweets to the female Google executive he was threatening, and on the day he was arrested in August, he sent 150 tweets to her.
