Legal Tech, Ocean Life, and Poetry

http://ow.ly/6zu2K

Article by Evan Koblentz, appearing on law.com on the LTN webpage.

This article discusses the role of emerging legal technologies, and the impact they are having on other industries.

The author states he will be attending the ARMA conference, to gain further insight into this issue "...the ARMA (Association of Records Managers and Administrators) conference in Washington, D.C., next month. It will be a prime opportunity to learn how compliance workers view legal technology products and services, and to ask about which paths they'd like to see our industry travel."

The article references several areas that are impacted by Legal Technology, such as "business processes, disaster recovery, mobile computing, open source trends, security, and vertical markets, to name a few -- legal technology and especially e-discovery can impact, and can be impacted by, many different areas of business and technology."

The author poses some interesting questions, "Which companies in our field are most welcomed, for example, by the health care or transportation markets? Which are most appealing for IT organizations that need the best database access or security systems? Which are most likely to springboard into different products and services, and which might still exist as pure-play legal specialists in five years from now?"

What are your thoughts?  We would be happy to hear your comments about emerging trends, and other means that developing legal technology might impact your industry.
